BLAKE INSPIRES SCHOOL KIDS TO REACH THEIR GOALS WITH GROWTH MINDSET
Blake was inspiring school kids to reach their academic and sports goals by using a growth mindset this summer. Setting small goals, asking for help and using the power of yet are all strategies Blake shares with children to help them tackle challenges and strive for success.
Boston Marathon Midnight Ride
If it has wheels, Blake will race or ride it. And that’s just what he did this weekend, with his dad, Dan Lothian. Blake and his dad took part in a Boston Marathon tradition, The Midnight Ride. Blake and Dan, along with hundreds of other bike riders took off from the Boston Marathon start line in Hopkinton at midnight and biked the 26.2 mile Boston Marathon route, arriving at the finish line about 2 hours later. Blake’s dad is no stranger to the route and either was Blake. When Blake was much younger, the pair biked the route, but stopped at the halfway point which goes right past Blake’s home. This time they took the route all the way to the end. Blake’s dad, Dan has ran and finished the marathon twice. FUN FACT: Dan was the first reporter to ever run and report at the same time, for television, (WCVB-TV) from the Boston Marathon. He was using the first small cell phone prototype made by Motorola. That was the 100th running of the Boston Marathon in 1996. This weekend’s event was the 127th running of the marathon.

Blake was thankful to be included in Boston’s Most Influential Men of Color 2023 as the youngest honoree at the event last night. The event was sponsored by Get Konnected and Amazon. He was also inspired to be included in this list of leaders in business, community, philanthropy and more, and hopes to learn all he can from their example. BLAKE KICKS OFF THE 2023 RACING SEASON AT THE CARS TOUR OPENER AT SOUTHERN NATIONAL on 3/11/23
Blake had some serious speed when he kicked off the racing season at the CARS Tour season opener at Southern National Motorsports Park. After having the third fastest practice time, he qualified 16th in a field of 32 for the 125 lap race. Blake’s Texas Lawbook #59 kept speed and pace through the race, until getting caught up in an incident ahead of him on the track in the last six laps of the race, ending P24. Thanks to Mike Darne Racing for the rocket ship and all of Blake’s great sponsors including Texas Lawbook, POTUS ABC Kids and Redline Detection.
SPOOKTACULAR P2 FINISH FOR BLAKE AT SOUTHERN NATIONAL HALLOWEEN WEEKEND
Halloween racing was a real treat at Southern National Motorsports Park this weekend. Came home with a P2 trophy in my candy sack. Was able to scare off most of the competition , save one. Took the lead late in the 125 lap race with an unconventional pass at the top of the track right at the final restart. Held on to the top spot for 15 laps, but lost it close to the end after tire wear took its toll. Finished up P2. Want to thank Mike Darne racing for the rocket ship they delivered right out of the hauler and a big shoutout to my new spotter Blaise Brinkley. Great time at Dominion Raceway with a Top 5 finish running against the best late model drivers in the country in a 22-car field. Met some wonderful fans and got the best hair award !, according to the track announcers and Matthew Dillner producer for the Dale Junior Download and Lost Speedways!
BLAKE MAKES HIS SECOND NASCAR TRUCK SERIES START AT INDIANAPOLIS RACEWAY PARK ON 7/29/22
Blake had a great run at Indianapolis Speedway Park on July 29th, keeping pace and making several passes until a snapped drive shaft took the Reaume Bros. Racing Texas Lawbook #43 out of the race at lap 72. Learned a lot and looking forward to the next one.
Blake Lothian hits the asphalt in the Urban Youth Racing School Grand Prix of Philadelphia
Blake’s so excited to be racing for a great cause in Philly this Friday. He’ll be competing against NASCAR’s best in the Urban Youth Racing School Philadelphia Grand Prix. Drivers will be hitting the asphalt in karts outside the Please Touch Museum in Fairmount Park. Events like this help support programs that grow the next generation of drivers and racing engineers. Blake got his start in racing, with competitive karting in a similar way. He commented, “I know just how important organizations like UYRS are for kids who have a passion for racing.” If you’re in the area Friday, come out and see what UYRS has to offer and maybe make a donation. NEW LOOK, NEW SPONSORS FOR A CRAZY TOP 10 RACE WEEKEND AT HICKORY
So thrilled to have new sponsors Colette Phillips Communications and Redline Detection aboard the #59, as we debuted our new look at Hickory Motor Speedway this weekend. It was action packed racing the whole night. A broken strut took us out of Race #1, and that meant a mad dash back to the shop in my family car for a replacement part. Luckily, thanks to my miracle crew at Mike Darne Racing, we were able to make it back to the track, repair the car, and make it to the grid for Race #2. Because of the replacement part, we had to start from the back of the pack. I managed to drive my way up to the top 5 , at times making some crazy 3 and 4 wide moves along the way (see photo). Ended the night losing the car’s hood but finished a solid P7. All thanks to my crew and sponsors Colette Phillips, Redline Detection, POTUSABC kids and Texas Lawbook.
